MEDINA COUNTY – In honor of the nation’s 250th birthday, the Medina County Digital Time Capsule provides an opportunity for organizations and individuals to tell their compelling stories on a platform that will provide them with long term online visibility.
“This digital time capsule will create a footprint of our communities for today and for future generations,” said Mike Zenczak, president and publisher of the online platform. “We’re taking a moment to honor this time in history, reconnect our communities and the people who helped build them and assist the many organizations, companies and families in telling their story. We are taking a snapshot of our life in the county during this important anniversary of our country and marking our history in this digital time capsule.”
Key Aspects Of The Time Capsule
The Medina County Digital Time Capsule will encompass many aspects of the northeast Ohio community’s past and present such as:
- Organizational histories and timelines
- Unique stories and profiles of key individuals
- An archive of images and documents, past and present
- Audio and video of community voices
- Blogs and messages from a host of local contributors
“This…will be the most aggressive storytelling project I’ve been involved with during the scope of my career.”Publisher Mike Zenczak
“This digital time capsule will be the most aggressive storytelling project I’ve been involved with during the scope of my career,” Zenczak said. “It’s a big year ahead, and we have a lot of work to do. We’re going to be very aggressive about contacting community members to partner with us on this project.”
Partners and participants in this digital time capsule will include:
- Civic leaders and prominent community members
- Local families with strong community ties
- Businesses and corporations wishing to chronicle their time
- New companies looking to introduce their brand and its people
- Tributes to key individuals past and present
The History Of Medina County
Zenczak added that with the growth of AI and SEO related to online searches, this project will assist individuals in telling their story and communicating key messages about their organizations.
“Our technology and proprietary coding will ensure this data will become a fixed part of our partners’ digital footprint,” he said. Zenczak explained that partners of the time capsule will have their own home page within the platform containing articles, photo galleries and audio clips about their organization. They will also have other proprietary links back to their organization’s primary website.
Capsule Content In An AI And SEO Environment
“There’s really nothing else like it in the market,” Zenczak said. “AI and SEO are changing online searches, so we are working to help create an established footprint for organizations to be able to tell their stories. When trying to connect online, companies and organizations have relied on other vehicles that have not always been effective.

Social media can be underperforming, and can be difficult to keep that story visible for more than a short period of time.” Zenczak said the Medina County Digital Time Capsule provides a platform where a partner’s story can be archived and provide a more lasting digital presence.
“While we will be consistent with our structure and the way that users and readers will be able to access data, these stories will not be cookie cutter,” he said. “When we sit down with a partner to help them tell their story, it will be unique to them.
Creating Connections In The Community
As the time capsule project continues to expand and evolve, Zenczak said he wants to connect with as many companies, organizations and civic leaders as possible. “My biggest concern is I don’t want to get a call from a business leader or head of an organization saying ‘We didn’t know about this,’” he said.
Zenczak said he is passionate about providing area organizations with a media partner that can not only help them tell their story but assist them in keeping their story visible for a long time to come.
While he has already sat down with numerous civic leaders and heads of local companies and organizations, Zenczak said he looks forward to making even more connections as the time capsule project continues to grow.
“It’s something we’re spending a lot of time on and I’m very excited about,” he said.
