Family team brings new brand and flavor to Medina County

BRUNSWICK – Just two days after opening their new location in Ashland in 2024, Pete and Doug Cooper of the Goldberry Roasting Company received a call from a developer who was interested in a partnership.
“We ended up talking to Nick from Market 42 in Brunswick and it really felt like we aligned with him on a lot of goals and visions,” Doug said. “He was looking to build a community of small businesses as a way to bring the Brunswick community together and that is a big part of what we do – it just made sense for us to join this community of like-minded
businesses and people.”
Goldberry’s Market 42 location is open seven days a week at 8:00 AM and is fully stocked with coffee flavors from a variety of global markets, specialty drinks, and a selection of holiday gift boxes for purchase.

“We don’t do any of the roasting at the Market 42 location, but we are taking fresh coffee there weekly,” Pete said.
Doug pointed out that while Market 42 can draw a crowd by around lunchtime, Goldberry is open by 8 a.m. and provides the ideal environment for enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee.
“That morning time is when we really shine,” he said. “Between 8 and 11 a.m. there is always plenty of parking. People can come in and enjoy a coffee, get food from one of the Market 42 vendors and use the WIFI and just hang out.”

“We don’t have a drive through, but you can order online, and we can bring your order to you curbside,” he said. “We know some people have limited time, so we want to have that convenience there.”

Customers at the Market 42 location can also pick up bags of coffee including single origins from places like Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea as well as blends and signature roasts including the seasonal Cornucopia Autumn Blend.
“We are also working with a vendor to provide some simple select baked good items that don’t compete with any of the other businesses inside Market 42,” Doug said.
In the future, Pete and Doug say they plan to have fundraisers where a portion of coffee sales will benefit Coffee Growing Community, but they said they would also like to immerse themselves in Brunswick and partner with community groups on local endeavors.
“We would like to work with local sports teams and local clubs,” said Doug. “Maybe we could partner with the local church parish and the chamber of commerce. We want to become an integral part of the community.”
“Any organization that wants to partner, we want them to reach out to us,” Pete said.
