According to Treasurer John Burke’s office, payments postmarked after the deadline will incur a 5% penalty. This penalty increases to 10% for payments made after March 9, 2026.

What to do if you haven’t paid your bill. If you have not received your tax bill in the mail, Treasurer Burke recommends calling his office at 330-725-9748. You may also visit www.medinacountytreasurer.com (please note this is distinct from the Auditor’s website) and click “Search and Pay Taxes” to view your balance. From there, taxpayers can print an official bill to use for mail-in or in-person payments.

Tax Payments Options

  • In-Person: Payments are accepted at the Treasurer’s Office (144 N. Broadway, Medina) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For your convenience, the office will offer extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on the February 27 deadline. Please bring your entire tax bill at the time of payment.
  • By Mail: Payments must be postmarked by February 27, 2026, to avoid a 5% penalty. Payments made after March 9 will incur a 10% penalty.

  • 24-Hour Drop Boxes: If paying by check, you may use the secure drive-up drop boxes at these locations (please include your tax bill stub):

    • Medina: County Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway St.

Pay Taxes Online

Digital and Online Payments “Online tax payments are easy, safe, fast, and convenient,” said Treasurer Burke. “We provide a variety of digital options to meet the needs of our residents.”

Taxpayers can pay via the website using an electronic check ($1.50 fee), debit card (1.99% fee), credit card (2.5% fee), or PayPal (2.5% fee). Phone payments are also available at 1-888-607-8389. These vendor fees are paid directly to the service providers; Medina County does not receive any portion of these fees.

Flexible Financing via PayPal Credit
Through the Treasurer’s website, PayPal Credit offers a “Bill Me Later” option. This allows taxpayers to pay over six months with no interest, subject to credit approval. “We have seen many taxpayers use this opportunity to gain extra time to pay while still meeting the official deadline and avoiding late charges,” Burke added.
