Amanda Rinerth / Emily Canning-Dean
Emily Dean: Hi, this is Emily Dean and I am here with Amanda Rienerth from Donut Land, and Amanda, I know you guys have some pretty exciting news that you’ll have a new space coming up pretty soon. Can you tell me a little bit about why you’re deciding to move and why you needed the extra space for Donut Land?
Amanda Rienerth: So we sell between 400 and 500 dozen donuts on an average Saturday, and that is at our absolute maximum capacity. So when we have special weekends going on, we regularly have to pause taking orders because we simply just cannot handle the capacity throughout the weekend. Also the past year, we regularly sell out of product where we just cannot make enough because we only have one fryer.
Emily Dean: Okay, so this new space will really let you expand and keep up with demand then.
Amanda Rienerth: Correct.
Emily Dean: Okay, and when do you think we can expect you to be in your new location?
Amanda Rienerth: Right now, if everything goes as planned, construction is scheduled to end mid-June. So once it ends, then we will need to close this location to move our new, our current equipment to the new location. So we’re hoping to be open sometime in July.
Emily Dean: Okay. And, I think you had said too, it will still be a 24/7 operation, even once you’re in this new space.
Amanda Rienerth: Yes, we will. However, we will probably continue staying closed on Mondays throughout the summer.
Emily Dean: Okay. And then, I know your grandfather opened Donut Land 54 years ago and and you’ve taken over for him. What do you think he would think if he could see how much you’ve expanded it today and what the future is going to look like for Donut Land?
Amanda Rienerth: I just know that he would be so proud. A lot of his friends come in, good buddies and even family members just come in and tell me how proud he would be, and how amazed what Donut Land has turned into.
Emily Dean: Oh, wonderful. It definitely seems like it’s quite the family legacy. And then one final question, you said both of your daughters are involved, too. So, this is very much going to the next generation as well.
Amanda Rienerth: Yes.
Emily Dean: Okay. Wonderful. Well, we are really excited to see the new location. Thank you so much, Amanda.
Amanda Rienerth: Thank you.
