C&SW Railway Car
Men standing outside Cleveland and Southwestern Interurban Railway Car #107 in Medina, Ohio. The C&SW railway is honored at the Northern Ohio Railway Museum which covers all areas that the Interurban railway covered throughout Northern Ohio.

Wright Brothers Airplane Medina
A photo of A.I. Root, founder of the A.I. Root Company in Medina, Ohio in a Wright Brothers style airplane at the Medina County Fair in 1915. A.I. Root had an interest in the Wright brothers’ experiments in flight and had corresponded with the brothers through letters.

Medina County Jail 1925
The Medina County Jail in 1925 was located in the vicinity of the historic Town Commons (Public Square), likely on West Liberty Street, as that area was historically designated for county, business, and residential buildings.

Miller Underground Railroad
| A photo of the Miller Family in 1948 standing next to the sign which officially marks the homestead as an Historic Underground Railway Station. Sign reads, “This dwelling was used as an underground railroad station operated by Hiram B. Miller for many years. He hid hundreds of runaway slaves which he helped to ship to Canada, in dry goods boxes, where they could gain freedom |

Medina Shopping Center 1960s
The Medina Shopping Center which included Medina Drug, Fisher Foods and the A&P. This center was located about a half mile away from the square.

Pond On Medina Square 1951
This fish pond and fountain with colored lights was donated to The Square in Medina in 1951 by Freda Snyder. Freda and her husband owned Medina Farmers Exchange in Medina. The fountain was removed in 1976 when it was replaced by a Victorian-era gazebo. |

Lodi Steam Engine 1968 Celebration
Children are shown here enjoying the steam engine that was on display for the city of Medina’s Sesquicentennial celebration in June of 1968. The steam engine was on display along with the city’s oldest fire engine, a 1918 model, a full size Agena rocket and a Cessna 150 airplane. The steam engine was locally owned by Lodi, Ohio resident Clyde Whitmore. The man blowing the horn in the picture is engineman Hobe Chapman.

Mayor of the city of Medina, Ohio in 1969, Fred Greenwood with his secretary, Mildred Andrews. Greenwood was mayor of Medina from 1966 to 1974.
